Meet the Team
Helen Porter, CTRS, CADDCT
Helen Porter joined Integral Senior Living in 2016. She has served in a variety of leadership roles in the senior living industry, overseeing memory care, performing as a licensed administrator and working as a business office director. She is a Nashville-native-turned-Knoxvillian who has a passion for encouraging people to fulfill their maximum potential. While pursuing her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in recreation therapy at the University of Tennessee–Knoxville, her concentration was devoted to children with multiple disabilities. After graduation, she was called into working with seniors, where she began as the director of Life Enrichment. With a love for education, she has become certified as a therapeutic recreation specialist, a certified dementia practitioner, and an Alzheimer’s disease and dementia care trainer. She enjoys running, biking, coffee and the word “enthusiasm.”
Director of Sales and Marketing
Chelsea Irwin has an extensive background in sales and marketing in the senior living industry. She completed her Master of Business Administration degree at King University in 2019. Chelsea’s passion is being a guide to families on their journey to find assisted living and memory care for their loved ones. She prides herself on having true relationships with the families and residents she connects with. Chelsea is a native of Knoxville and is a proud University of Tennessee alumna.
In her spare time, Chelsea enjoys being at her family houseboat on Norris Lake, iced coffee, and spending time with her husband, Dalton, and their puppy, Lola.
Maddison Boling, CTRS
Vibrant Life® Director
Maddison Boling is a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee–Knoxville. She studied recreational therapy, and recently passed her exam to become an official certified recreational therapist. She was born and raised in Knoxville and is very familiar with the beauty of Knox! South High has a special place in her heart because her grandmothers attended South High as teenagers! Her goal at South High is to bring fun and adventure to the lives of our residents!
Monica Maples, LPN
Generations Program Director
Prior to finding her passion in health care, Monica Maples was a supervisor and office manager for 15 years. Monica started her career as a certified nursing assistant before completing school to become a licensed practical nurse. She has 14 years of nursing experience in dementia-related care. Having cared for her grandmother while she progressed with Alzheimer’s, Monica eventually found a more specific calling in dementia care. With her heart of gold and desire for helping seniors, we are thrilled to have her focusing on overseeing our residents of Generations.
Brenda Wyrick, LPN
Resident Care Director
Brenda Wyrick joins our team with a multitude of experience. Her journey in health care started out as a certified nursing assistant and led her to nursing school 13 years later. Brenda has been a licensed practical nurse for 20 years now and prides herself on specializing in geriatrics during that time. She strives to have the best relationships with her residents, their families and team. Knowing she has the ability to “impact a person’s life” each day is what keeps her motivation high.
Culinary Services Director
Kevin Fields found his calling at a young age, spending time in the kitchen and learning to cook alongside his mother and Nana. He got his first chef coat at the age of 10 and has only gained more knowledge and passion since. He brings over 15 years of excellence in culinary service, with five of those years dedicated specifically to seniors in the Knoxville area. Kevin graduated from The Culinary Arts Program at Walters State. With his background and creative mind, Kevin is highly qualified and eager to bring a wonderful and unique dining experience to the residents at South High Senior Living.
Kevin and his wife, Alicia, have three kids, Hayden, Grayson and Charleigh Kate. In his free time, he enjoys woodworking and working on classic cars. We are so happy to have Kevin as part of our team!
Business Office Director
Gennah Kennedy is a graduate from the University of Tennessee, where she received her bachelor’s degree in business management. She is currently furthering her education by pursuing her master’s degree at Carson Newman University. She has previously worked in accounting, customer service and administration. Gennah has had a lifelong passion for seniors, which led her to the senior living industry. She enjoys making a difference in people’s lives and their quality of care. She strives to achieve this on a regular basis and feels that all senior living communities should have the same commitment.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her Pomeranian and her husband, soccer, and cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers. Gennah is incredibly passionate and upbeat, and we are thrilled to have her join our team!!
Building Services Director
Tom Overton has a remarkable 30-plus years of experience in ensuring proper service and maintenance in different capacities. He attended Tennessee State Technical School and has worked in the hotel and senior living industry. He takes pride in making sure that his rooms and spaces exceed company and resident expectations. Tom is a fun and lively individual who loves doting on his grandkids and spending time with his wife, Lynne, and dog, Roxy. We are ecstatic to welcome Tom to our team!
